Question: What is the significance of the two roads in the poem?

Answer: The two roads symbolise the diverse and confusing situations we have to confront during our journey of life. The narrator chose the path that was ‘grassy and wanted wear,’ perhaps because he did not want to follow the crowd and wanted to do something unique with his life.

Two roads diverged in a yellow wood, and sorry I could not travel both and be one traveler, long I stood and looked down one as far as I could to where it bent in the undergrowth.
